Children’s Research Program starts at Darüşşafaka Educational Institutions
During the 10-week program, children will be guided to develop skills and knowledge to understand the research process and conduct their own research. At the first two week, children answered questions such as “What is research?” “What is a researcher?” “What is the thing that you are most curious of?”and “Have you ever conduct a research project?” through enjoyable activities. Children expressed their feelings and opinions towards research at the end of these activities as:
“This increased my interest towards researching. This is program is good, enjoyable and informative. I think we need to study more on this.”
“ I sometimes feel bored while doing research but after this activity, I think I will have more fun with the research process.”
“ I always wanted people to know about my curiosities and my own ideas, even when I was younger. This study helped me to express what I want to learn and satisfy my curiosities.”
“This increased my interest towards development and research. Activities are very nice. I am happy, Children’s Research Center is very good. It changed our perspectives.”
The program also included a seminar based on the application of the program from different age groups for primary and secondary levels’ teachers.
