Community Service Application

Children’s Research Center was introduced to our future teachers and we brainstormed about the motivation and attitude of children toward researching. At the end of the session, prospective teachers stated that they gained a new perspective on the issue and they will emphasize the importance of guiding students to conduct research when they become teachers themselves.

The Training Program

The training program of Children's Research Center for prospective teachers began on March 13th 2010. After meeting and introduction, prospective teachers participated in several activities such as building a tower by using newspapers. These activities were used to support the development of professional creativity and communication skills development. The participants will handle the school program aiming the develop the research skills of children.

Thinking Together With Children Workshop

Children’s Research Centre and Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Education, Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling have  organized a workshop on Sunday, 9th May, 2010 at Block A Conference Hall. The one day workshop was conducted by Dr. Derya Şahhüseyinoğlu and Tuğba Can from the Children’s’ Research Centre. In this workshop, there were activities about how to help children gain research skills and develop media literacy skills as well as a discovery activity as a thinking model. 220 students and teachers participated at the workshop. The participants received an activity book and the participation certificate at the end of the workshop.
